Atty. Anya Katrina Yzabelle A. Atty. Mark Joseph T. Tagala is a Senior Associate Lawyer whose practice includes civil and criminal litigation, labor dispute resolution, and legal representation in administrative and cadastral proceedings. He has four (4) years of experience in prosecuting and defending parties in blue- and white-collar criminal cases.


In CAVEAT Law, Atty. Marky assists a multitude of clients from varying industries, such as, but not limited to, real estate, towing and trucking, business process outsourcing, pharmaceuticals, travel and tours, fashion, and advertising. Recently, he assisted the real estate arm of a multi-national conglomerate and successfully recovered sums of money from a number of defendants related to an expansion project in Cavite.


Prior to joining CAVEAT Law, Atty. Marky was a Senior Tax Associate at Isla Lipana & Co. and a Legal Advisor at Cabrera and Company, both of which are member firms of the PwC network. There, he assisted a holding company that drives investment in the education sector, a multi-national energy corporation predominantly specializing in oil and gas, a boutique business process outsourcing company aimed at providing clients with customized outsourcing solutions, a full-service telecommunications company, a pre-need company specializing in traditional life plans and deathcare services, a tertiary medical facility built and designed to serve Metro Manila’s largest and most populous city, a trusted growth partner for the world’s leading brands, a multi-national footwear, apparel, and fashion accessories manufacturer and retailer, and a supplier of animal feed and fermentation industries, to name a few. At PwC Philippines, he handled administrative and judicial tax refund cases, legal due diligence, tax consulting and advisory, mergers and acquisitions, public-private partnership accounts, risk management, and sanctions compliance. He also practiced litigation and legal representation before the Court of Tax Appeals, Bureau of Internal Revenue, and Bureau of Customs.


On the side, Atty. Marky is part of the Legal Services Team of the National Union of Peoples’ Lawyers - National Capital Region Chapter handling pro bono cases of human rights violations and public interest cases. He is also one of the Volunteer Legal Aid Lawyers of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines - Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas Chapter.


From time to time, Atty. Marky gets invitations from local government units and civil society organizations to discuss laws on human rights, urban development and housing, gender sensitivity, and legal aid.
